Happy 21'st Twin!

I know no matter how old I get I will never be old enough in the eyes of my parents, especially my mother. Like I briefly mentioned in my last post I was packing for my trip to Florida and had to do last minute packing. This was definitely not a last minute trip but I knew if I packed my bags myself she would only repack it her way. So I figured I might as well wait so WE could pack MY suitcase together. I swear when I'm 30 she's still going to be telling me to look both ways before crossing the street. My mom is one of those women who were destined to be a mom. She's so motherly lol. Anyhow, so I went to Florida to celebrate my twins 21st birthday. I was extremely excited because I haven't seen her in years, literally. So after a tearful journey (I hate planes) I made it to Florida, where my darling Kia came to pick me up. I arrived pretty late Wednesday night so when we got to her house, it was straight to bed. Only of course being the night person that is myself, I couldn’t sleep. So if I’m up, who has to be up with me? My twin, duh! So we pretty much chatted all night, and had to wake up early the next morning. But it was great to actually be able to talk in person for once. Anyhow, the next day was fun filled with events. Kia toured me around and I had a wickedly awesome time! Her birthday was Friday, and I was super excited for her. She was turning 21, it still seems somewhat surreal to me. I feel blessed to have watched her grow into the beautiful young woman that she is today. I’m grateful to have been present though the many transition periods. Yes, I am fully aware that I sound like a mom, just bare with me. Anyhoo, she decided to bring in her 21’st birthday with her family and close friends by having an intimate dinner party. So during the day on Friday, it was all about preparing for the night. Her mom and dad tried their best to cater to her needs and they did a spectacular job. By the time the food was fully prepared it was time to hit the shower and prepare for the nights festivities. And so everything began, and it was wonderful! The dinner was filled with jokes and laughs. We ate a delicious meal that consisted of: shrimp linguini, fried chicken, double stuffed baked potatoes, curry chicken, rice, macaroni pie, etc *rubs belly thinking about it.* I think her dad was right, he should have his own cooking show. I would definitely tune in. And of course my favorite part was digging into the Oreo cookie and cream birthday cake. Yummy!  Here are a few snaps of the night:

BTW, the night didn’t end there; it was time to get jiggy with it. We hit the club straight after the dinner. And I wasn’t aware that it was legal to smoke in Florida clubs?! Yuck! But other than that, part two of the night proved to be another success! Okay, there are just way too many pictures to be contained in one post so I’ll leave the rest for my next one.
